The charge will be slow. QC3.0 is a proprietary Qualcomm charging standard whereas USB PD is the industry standard
for USB power delivery (as the name suggests!). They’re not compatible.
Now USB PD charging is available, QuickCharge is being phased out on Android. Google made it very clear 2 years
ago that they expect all new Android phones to support USB PD charging.
Although a big money spinner for Qualcomm, QuickCharge was only successful because USB charging prior to USB
PD wasn’t up to the job.
QC4.0 includes support for USB PD which should assist with the transition. iPhones (since iPhone 8) iPad Pros and
USB chargeable laptops all use USB PD already with the appropriate charging cables.
If you’re buying power banks or chargers and you want fast charging then it’s a good idea to make sure that they
support USB PD, which in practice means USB-C. Also check the charging power available - I would say 18W is the
minimum to look for, matching the
QuickCharge maximum. This doesn’t mean expensive as there are now some good 18W USB-C 10,000mAh power banks around the USD30 mark for example. Most current models support QuickCharge on a
USB-A port as well, so you’ll still be able to use with legacy Androids until you get a new one supporting PD.
